A cement blanket is a mat-like slope protection material that can be poured with water to cure, with a concrete mixture (cement and sand) inside. This material combines the hardness of concrete with the softness of a blanket, perfectly turning concrete into a blanket form, providing great convenience for construction projects. However, in practical situations, cement blankets cannot completely replace concrete. So which projects can use them, and which cannot?
Cement blankets can be used in any slope protection projects, such as aquaculture (fish ponds, shrimp ponds, turtle ponds), tailings slope protection for ditches and river channels, and construction foundation pit support projects; paving projects (parking lots or roads not carrying heavy vehicles); and roof rainproofing projects (used together with geomembranes).
Cement blankets cannot be used on walls. Although they are made of concrete, their thickness limitation prevents them from supporting wall protection projects; roads with heavy vehicles; and waterproofing projects (cement blankets are slightly permeable materials, and if waterproofing is required, they can be used with geomembranes).
