Generally, it is determined according to construction requirements. The main function of geomembrane is seepage prevention. Geomembranes are not only used in hydraulic engineering, but also in storage projects for solutions or industrial waste with relatively complex chemical compositions. When applied to different seepage prevention projects, the thickness of the geomembrane used also varies. The thickness of a geomembrane is determined based on two aspects: first, to control the amount of leakage, as a thicker geomembrane can reduce its permeability.  

1. The other aspect is to prevent it from being punctured by soil particles at the bottom under water pressure.  
2. The required thickness of a geomembrane depends on the water pressure the material is subjected to, the particle size of the underlying layer, as well as the elastic modulus of the material itself and the allowable tensile stress.  

Considering the water pressure in reservoirs:  
- Around 2m: recommended 0.75mm or above  
- Around 4m: recommended 1.0mm or above  
- Around 8m: recommended 1.2mm or above  

The specific thickness of the seepage prevention geomembrane for a reservoir should be determined based on the actual situation.
